Mr. Ryan was most recently appointed by Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick to serve on the ERCOT Board Selection Committee. He currently serves as the Chairman for the Lieutenant Governor’s Tax Policy Advisory Board and recently served as Chairman for the Texans Back to Work Task Force created by Lieutenant Governor Patrick for his efforts in restarting the Texas economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Ryan also currently serves as Chairman of the Texas Association of Business and formerly served as Treasurer and has been on the Executive Committee of its Board of Directors for more than a decade. Mr. Ryan is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Ryan was first appointed to the University of North Texas System (UNTS) Board of Regents in 2009, serving as Chairman from 2013 to 2019. He was reappointed by Governor Greg Abbott to a six-year term, which ended in 2022. He previously served on the UNT Accounting Advisory Board, UNT College of Business Advisory Board, UNT Dallas Foundation, and the Pi Kappa Alpha Board of Trustees. The University of North Texas celebrated the naming of the G. Brint Ryan College of Business through a $30 million commitment—the largest gift in university history—from Mr. Ryan and his wife, Amanda. Mr. Ryan serves on various boards of nonprofit organizations: BCBSTX Community Advisory Board, Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region, and Dallas Citizens Council. He also founded and chairs The Ryan Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has donated millions of dollars and countless hours of community development to charities in 56 cities where Ryan has offices.

Outside of the professional services field, Mr. Ryan is the owner of the historic Hotel Settles in Big Spring, Texas. The building is one of the most historically significant structures in Texas. A native of West Texas, Mr. Ryan also has oil and gas and agribusiness interests in Howard County, Texas.
Mr. Ryan resides in Dallas, Texas with Amanda and their five daughters. He enjoys spending weekends with his family and can often be found at various school functions and community activities with his daughters.
