What’s one key decision or moment that shaped your career?
Allie Beth Allman: One key decision that shaped my career was taking the leap into the real estate industry and deciding to get licensed. The first house I sold belonged to the legendary Tom and Alicia Landry from the Dallas Cowboys. At the time, I did not even have my license, but the Landrys trusted me. Afterward, my husband, Pierce, encouraged me to get my license and find a mentor. That turned out to be Colleen Flowers at Hank Dickerson Real Estate. Aligning with the right team provides essential training and networks.
How do you approach mentoring the next generation of leaders?
Allie Beth Allman: Mentoring the next generation of leaders is about fostering growth, confidence and practical skills. One approach I embrace is leading by example. I encourage anyone in real estate to hold themselves to the highest level of integrity, demonstrate professionalism and be adaptable. Actions often speak louder than words, and mentees learn by observing how seasoned professionals handle challenges. As I like to say, there is always another deal.
How has giving back to the community influenced your leadership and your approach to business?
Allie Beth Allman: Giving back to the community has had a profound influence on my leadership and business. Strong community ties are essential in real estate. Engaging in community initiatives fosters trust and genuine connections. When people see you as a contributor to the neighborhood’s well-being, they’re more likely to view you as a trusted advisor, not just a salesperson. For example, Pierce and I have always been heavily involved in Highland Park United Methodist Church, which is where we met my first clients, Tom and Alicia Landry.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, and who gave it to you?
Allie Beth Allman: The best piece of advice I received came early in my career from my broker, Henry S. Miller, who said, “Focus on relationships, not just transactions.” He explained that success in real estate isn’t just about closing deals – it’s about building trust, nurturing long-term relationships and being genuinely invested in your customers’ lives. My mindset went from chasing short-term wins to cultivating a reputation based on service and integrity. This approach not only strengthened my business, but also made my work more fulfilling.
If you could go back and give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Allie Beth Allman: If I could go back, I’d tell my younger self: “Trust yourself and your instincts.” Starting out, it’s easy to hesitate or overthink out of fear of failure. Every setback is a lesson, and every risk carries the potential to redefine your path. Trust that hard work, resilience and a clear vision will take you further than you can imagine.
What are you most excited about for the future of Dallas and its business community?
Allie Beth Allman: The future of Dallas and its business community is incredibly exciting because the city is positioned for sustained growth and innovation. Dallas continues to attract major corporations, startups and entrepreneurs due to its business-friendly environment, diverse industries, strong infrastructure and quality of living.
